"My boys are ready." Jay said, looking at his flight as he added his affirmation to Queen's.

"Let us take the recon flight Pappy. I can fly those ARC's pretty nicely.....Stinger will bring back some pretty holos."

Jay sat back in his seat, reclining slightly.
Just a milk run......right....

Then said to Flame, " have the sqn ready and waiting once we're done here, , to Itchy, " Reqresition an ARC for yourself, IF pappy accepts your volenteering, otherwise It'll be a Koensayr for now. "

Jay turned to Big D with a curious look on his face and spoke in an undertone as the briefing was still progressing.

"Don't need to requisition anything Major. Stinger still has the ARCs. We are not turning them over to Vendetta until after the mission....Pappy just said that two seconds ago."

Jay raised an eyebrow, and turned to regard Big D again.
"Yeah...I got my flight assigned to B-Wings at the moment. We have been running through SIMS for the past two weeks.......we are set to go."

He smiled.

"That's it for now. Get your ships ready." Pappy turned to the group of Archangel Squadron. "Ice, ensure your strike team is also ready. We may have to send them into the base to secure if we have to go in and investigate."

The Wing CO glanced at the entire group. "Dismissed."

Nodding to Lucky, Crops and the others, Fraz took Queen's mug and placed it with his on the refreshment table and they walked out of the briefing room and headed down the corridor.

Fraz spoke first. "Going to be an interesting mission with Heim and both ships along for the ride."

"Yes it should be," Queen answered as they all entered the lift.

" All right wasps, let's go, " said Big D as he stood up and turned to go, " Flame, your my wingman, Itchy, Have you found your forward and rear gunner's yet? "

Then D brought out his comlink and said into it, " Chief, prep the ARCS for departure, full load out, copy? "

The reply was " I copy that Major, they'll be ready when you are, out "

Putting the comlink back in the pocket, D addressed his Squadron, " Acad, Demy, your with me, the rest of you, who are in the ARC's this mission, check your weapons, let's get it done. "

Then back to Itchy, " Well captain? "

Jay fished into his uniform pocket and pulled out his own commlink to contact Stinger's crewchief.
"Chief"
"Yes Captain?"
"Continue with the Squadron readiness as ordered, but I need one ARC advance prepped on the flightline.....recon loadout. Prep for one pilot."
Yessir."
"Oh..and Chief....on second thought...scratch that recon loadout. Prep two....standard loadout, full crew. Add in the Q7 adaptor to mine please....I want Q on this mission."
Yessir

Jay put the communication device back in his pocket and turned to Big D. "See you in a few hours Major....we got to bring back some pretty pictures."

Jay walked out of the Briefing Room and towards Stinger's Squadron spaces. He wanted to take a shower before the mission and do a bit of research before the ships arrived in system.

Lucky looked and listened, "Pappy, I suggest that the recon ship be either a A-Wing or a V-Wing, as they are the fastest ships in the wing. Additionally, with the older model T-65s coming over, the 14 hours is enough time to get them looked at and adjusted, and we could possibly have, depending on how many T-65s we are getting, a quarter of them up to specs with the current T-65s," he says.

Jay stopped on the way out as he heard Lucky's comment.

"Its up to Pappy afterall, but I think we're using ARC's. It aint about speed Lucky....the ARC's have the purpose built electronics suite. Besides,' he smiled 'the Relic is only a few seconds away."

Jay walked out.

Pappy stopped from leaving the room and turned to Lucky. “The recon equipment in the nose of the ARC-170 fighters are the best we got with the exception of those systems on our carriers. The ARC-170 could gather more info standing still than a fighter like the A-Wing.”

“And while I doubt 14 hour is enough to properly get the incoming ships into the condition we need, it is a moot point since we… do not… have… them… yet… This is why I stated after the mission info that all transitioning would have to wait. We cannot wait or divert. This mission is the priority now.”

The room emptied and lights shut off.
